April Hair Carnival: Copy Cat Style!

For this months Hair carnival each blogger was secretly assigned another blog, and had to choose a style to recreate. The blog I was assigned to was Precious Curls. Right from the start I knew this was going to be a challenge because Precious' hair type is so different from Keyanna's. After looking through all the styles on her blog we chose to go with the Zig Zag Flat Twists in a Bun. 

This style was really quick and easy, although I didn't do our flat twists the same way precious did hers. Hers are  more like a 2 strand twist (which look a lot cooler) I just haven't mastered that technique yet.. so I basically just "rolled" the hair for our flat twists. 

I loved this style and will def be doing it again in the future!

Flat Twists With Slide Braids

This is a cute summer time style I did on Keyanna last June for her aunts graduation. For me flat twists are a lot quicker and easier to do than cornrows, and this style only took about 25 minutes. I did about 14 or 15 twists and tied them off with some colorful bands, then parted the rest of her loose hair into 2 sections and did 2 slide braids. FLAT TWISTS WITH BEADS INTO ROPE TWIST PONIES

So for this style I had originally planned to do her whole head in flat twists going into a mohawk, but after starting I realized it was a lot harder to add beads into the flat twists and keep them looking "neat" than I had imagined. So we settled for 3 flat twists on each side going into a high pony, and then 2 more ponies in the back. I did rope twists with all of the loose hair and ended them with more beads. Even though it's not what I had originally pictured doing I thought it came out pretty cute :) 

To add the beads into the flat twists I first parted out the hair I was going to use, I then took a little bit of hair from the beginning of that section and added a few beads with my beader, I then continued on doing the flat twist adding the hair back in as I went.
